Wolvie Pick
Here it is. The first ever “Sketchbook Saturday” post. The “SS” will be a place for silly things that I wouldn’t want to put in my proper portfolio, but are worthy of the internet nonetheless. I encourage all of my fellow artists out there to participate in “SS” with me. It’s a great way to loosen up and do something stupid.

Baltimore Sports Classics
So I had the pleasure of being assigned the task to create an ad for the Baltimore Sun newspaper promoting the holiday re-airing of some local Bmore sports classics. Cal Ripken’s Ironman game (2131), the BALTIMORE Colts’ championship games in 1958 & 1959, and some Preakness highlights.
I created a series of 3 images and collaged them together for the ad. I did these entirely in Illustrator. Considering the hard deadline I was on, I think they turned out really well. The ads will run in the 12/23, 12/24, and 12/25 editions of the Sun. Be sure to check them out in the Sports section. In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek. Click the images to enlarge.
Illustration Friday: Little Things
Me and my friend Cindy have decided to try and sharpen our skills by playing along with the Illustration Friday gang. Each week the Illo Friday guys give you a topic, and you illustrate it. No rules, just go with it. This week’s topic was “Little Things”. Here’s my take…
I did this entirely in Adobe Fireworks, a highly underrated program, using primarily the vector path tool, and the paintbrush for fill-ins. I hope you like it.
